“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” — Matthew 13:45–46

Many people believe that church attendance and church culture is the beginning and end of the spiritual life. They equate faith with programs, positions, and tradiation’s. And while those things can be valuable, they are not the pearl.

Partnership with God is the pearl of great price. I’ve lived life both ways—striving in my own strength and aligning with Him—and the difference cannot be measured. Without Him, the work is sorrow and toil. With Him, the same tasks become light and joyful.

Like the merchant in Jesus’ parable, once I discovered the treasure of God’s partnership, I knew it was worth giving up everything else. Perfectionism, fear, and performance-driven living are like counterfeit pearls—shiny for a moment, but empty inside. God’s way is authentic, priceless, and eternal.

I have found my pearl: doing life with God. And I will never trade it for anything less.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself as my treasure, my pearl of great price. Teach me to release every false way of living—every anxious striving and self-reliance—and to hold fast to the joy of partnership with You. May my life reflect the value I place on You.

Faith in Action

Before I begin each day, I will declare: “God’s way is my pearl. I choose His partnership above all else.” Each decision becomes a chance to treasure Him more.

Legacy Blessing

To my children and generations to come: When you find this pearl—God’s presence, His partnership, His joy—hold it tightly. Don’t waste your years chasing counterfeits. Nothing compares to the life you will find when you give everything for Him. His way is the treasure worth your whole life.
