“Only do not rebel against the Lord, and do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them… But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.” – Numbers 14:9, 24

When the world shut down during the pandemic, I could have given in to fear, exhaustion, and the overwhelming weight of responsibilities. As a divorced parent, the challenges felt even greater—balancing parenting, work, and the pursuit of my education. But I chose to believe in God’s promises instead of the noise of obstacles around me.

By His grace, I completed my final nine classes, earned three academic degrees, and now work in a field that aligns with my studies. The journey wasn’t easy, but I refused to let fear stop me. Like Caleb, I held on to a different spirit—one of faith, obedience, and trust that God would lead me to my own promised land.

The Israelites let fear keep them from receiving what God had already prepared for them. But Caleb saw beyond the giants in the land; he saw God’s faithfulness. When we choose faith over fear, obedience over doubt, and trust over hesitation, we step into the future God has already secured for us.

No matter what obstacles stand before you—whether it’s financial struggles, emotional healing, or the uncertainty of rebuilding life after divorce—remember that God is leading you. His promises are greater than any opposition. Keep moving forward, not by your strength but by His. Your promised land is ahead.

A Prayer for Strength and Faith

 Lord, You are my guide and my strength. I refuse to let fear or doubt keep me from the promises You have spoken over my life. Just as You honored Caleb’s faith, I choose to trust You completely. Lead me forward, beyond every obstacle, and into the purpose You have for me. I know You are with me, and I will not be afraid. Amen.
