Trusting God with Our Burdens
Jun 24, 2024
Thank you for joining me today. I’m excited to be here with you to discuss a topic that’s close to my heart—prayer and the profound peace that comes from truly leaving our burdens in God’s hands.
Prayer is a powerful tool that many of us turn to in times of trouble. It’s our way of communicating with God, laying out our worries, our fears, and our deepest desires. But sometimes, even after we’ve prayed, we find ourselves still holding on to the weight of those worries. We say we’ve given them to God, but in reality, we’re still carrying them on our shoulders.
This reminds me of Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus invites us with these comforting words: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
At Leaders Wellness Suite, we often discuss the importance of this passage in our lives. It’s an invitation to release our burdens and to trust in God’s plan, yet many of us find ourselves struggling to let go completely. We pray, we seek comfort, but then we continue to carry the weight as if we are alone in our struggles.
I remember a time when I was going through a particularly challenging season. Despite my prayers, I was still overwhelmed with worry and fear. I had to remind myself of Jesus’ words in Matthew 11:28-30. It wasn’t until I truly embraced the idea of laying my burdens at His feet that I began to experience the peace and rest He promises.
The key to this peace lies in trust. Trust that God has the capacity to carry all that concerns you.
and that He is more than capable of carrying our burdens for us. When we trust in Him fully, we allow ourselves to experience the rest and relief that comes from knowing we are not alone.
At Leaders Wellness Suite, we understand the power of community in our spiritual journeys. That’s why I invite you to join our community for prayer support. Whether you’re dealing with personal struggles, family challenges, or just need a place to feel heard and supported, our community is here for you.
Point to Ponder: ow can you more fully trust God with the burdens you carry as a divorced parent, and what steps can you take to release these worries into His hands?
